Getting started as an operator
An operator account is a commercial workspace for tour companies and recurring hosts: a branded storefront, curated bookings, a back-office editor and cross-community discovery. It’s distinct from a personal traveller account, which is for joining and hosting trips socially.
Becoming an operator
- Request a demo from the operators page — we’ll set up a branded walkthrough and get you onboarded.
- Operator workspaces are a Pro capability. Onboarding and subscription happen on the web.
- Once approved, you get an operator profile, a storefront and the editor for your team.
Your storefront
Your storefront is a branded home at yourname.tripcode.io — your logo, colours, photos and story. It lists your trips and your operator profile, and can run fully white-label.
- Set your branding (logo, banner, colours, tagline, socials) and storefront sections from the operator profile.
- Your storefront resolves at your subdomain and at tripcode.io/op/yourname.
- Only you and your team can edit it; everyone else sees the published page.
Publishing & managing trips
Build and manage trips in the tripcode editor at editor.tripcode.io — a browser tool for the desk-bound work, plus the app for everything on the go.
- Set the title, dates, price, deposit, what’s included and not included, cancellation policy, difficulty and capacity.
- Build a day-by-day itinerary and publish to your storefront when it’s ready.
- Your trip detail page shows all of this up front, with you named as the organiser.
Applications & curating travellers
Trips on tripcode are application-based — travellers apply, and you choose the group.
- A traveller applies; you review their profile, reviews and socials, then approve or decline.
- Approvals and declines notify the traveller automatically.
- For trips you’re not yet transacting on-platform, you can point the booking call-to-action at your own external booking link.
Hotel & partner inquiries
Email hotels, guides and vendors from inside the editor and keep every reply in one inbox — no switching between your mailbox and your trip plan.
- Compose from a saved template; merge variables (trip title, dates, group size) fill in automatically.
- Send to several recipients at once; replies are matched back to the inquiry.
- Inquiries are operator-facing and a Pro capability, with a fair daily sending limit.
Your team
- Add staff to your operator account so the right people can manage trips and answer travellers — not just you.
- Owners manage branding, billing, the team and referral settings; members can manage trips.
- Each plan includes a number of seats; additional seats are a small monthly add-on.
Referral codes & commission
Your referral code is how tripcode tells your audience apart from travellers we send you — and it’s the heart of the pricing.
- Travellers who join with your referral code are attributed to you — 0% commission, always.
- Travellers tripcode sources for you through discovery carry the commission on your plan.
- A small platform fee applies to processed payments either way, covering payment processing.
Billing & payments
Subscription coming
Operator subscriptions are billed on the web (not through the app stores). Plans, included seats and commission rates are shown on the operators page; figures there are launch defaults.
Taking payment coming
In-app payments run through Stripe, with you as the merchant of record — funds settle to your connected account and you handle refunds. tripcode never holds your trip funds and is never a party to your trip contract. Until payments ship, show your pricing and deposits and take bookings via your own link.
